KingsIsle is introducing a new mount type today – Wings! They attack to your back and give you the same faster movement speed as any regular mount! They are also adding back more insanely powerful Crowns gear that they had originally, for a price. The old uber gear only went up to level 35, but for this new stuff you’ll have to be level 45 or better. They also have some new wands and stuff. KingsIsle is hoping W101 subscribers will log on to the Test Realm in the next couple of days, go to a certain area and just jump around, port there and back, and in general abuse the place. Plus, you get 100,000 Crowns to play around with (but only on the Test Realm, alas!) Wizard101 is having a CAPTION CONTEST! Wizard101’s lighthearted Abracadoodle web comic is turning over the writing duties to YOU! I guess the regular writer is off enjoying the holidays, or something, leaving the artist to slave over his easel, drawing a comic while everyone else is away, but without a CLUE as to what the characters are saying. That’s where WE come in. We’re gonna make the writer rue the day he or she decided to unlock the shackles that bound them to the computer and visit family by coming up with lines of our OWN. ...

I just love this picture, I don’t know why! I think it might be the best picture I’ve ever taken in the World of Warcraft. It’s the dead boss at the end of the Orange Crystal part of Maraudon. I’ve been to the Orange Crystal side about a half dozen times now; Purple Crystal once. I think I’ve outgrown Uldaman now, I never get offered it any more. You don’t have anything to worry about when you have ninja pigs on your side. The second to last battle in Grizzleheim is against the Gurtok Barrier Beast, a fire Oni with 7000 health. What you can’t before is that you’re going to be fighting him alone. It was not an easy fight for a 41 Myth wizard to do, especially since I had forgotten to ever buy the Reshuffle card for her deck. She was down to just one card – a heal – and the boss had over 400 health left. Marissa was forced to draw some treasure cards… and there were the Ninja Pigs brothers, Poruku, Hama, and Bakon, ready to go. ...

Just what it says on the tin. A video of me running through the seven new school-specific houses. Enjoy :) (Looks best in HD). The winged Guardian robed I’m wearing there come from the Crowns store. Almost everyone bought some with the free Test-realm Crowns. I met a wizard in one of the homes who had a similar winged outfit, but it was subtly different. I checked out her character, and she had the real deal – the high-end dueling robes you get only by winning many, many duels. I felt kinda sorry for her. When this expansion goes live, very few people will be able to appreciate her accomplishment.

The new houses have JUST gone live on the test realm, so more on the homes Real Soon Now! Balance: I looked over all these pictures and the one I liked best was the first I looked at. The Balance school house is a series of rooms balanced atop a bottomless pit and connected by swaying bridges, while looked over by imposing statues of Balance herself. ...

I bought just one thing for myself on “Black Friday”, the advertiser-created consumer holiday that kicks off the Christmas shopping season the day following Thanksgiving. That one thing was a $20 Wizard101 Crowns card from a Rite-Aid my sister and I stopped by. So if you’re looking for W101 cards, the Rite-Aid in the White Plains part of the Bronx, just past the zoo, has them. The picture above shows Allison with the ninja pig pet that came with the card. The pig gives one Infection card that makes enemy heals half as effective, and the pig will occasionally bow to passers-by. ...
