EQ2: Bugbears always roll need

No matter how many times you tell the Bugbear that the guild isn’t raiding for his alt, he still rolls need on absolutely everything. The EQ2 Station Marketplace added a couple of new items today. The Bugbear joins the Kobold, Orc, and some creepy elves as the newest denizen of your apartment or guild hall. Personality-wise, Bugbear isn’t the best team player. If you’re not in his tribe, then you’re nothing. And if you DO happen to be a Bugbear – from his tribe – well, he’s more important than you, and the elders like him more, and they wanted him to have this thing. ...

Wizard 101: St. Patty's day -- and new Crowns items!

A funny little man dressed in green dragged me to my computer. “Log in! To Wizard 101!” he insisted. And when I started to do just that, he slapped my hands rudely from the keyboard. “No! Log in to the TEST SERVER! There all the new St. Patty’s Day things you will see!” “Gee,” I said. “Thanks, Yoda.” I did find the new St. Patty’s Day stuff. But I also stopped in on my friend Zeke the Prospector and found that he now carried new items for the discriminating shopper. ...

EQ2: Latest arrivals in the Station Marketplace

Too long has the EQ2 Station Marketplace modeling job been dominated by “sexy” or “good looking” or even “somewhat attractive” models. It’s time for a change. It’s time for the gnomes to take over. The annual Brewday festival starts today (I think), but you won’t need to be drunk to grab these fine new hats and outfits for a little bit of cash. Show off your love of 70s-era live television comedy with your very own “Beldar and Prymatt Conehead” hat. Just the thing for ‘imbibing mass quantities’ on Brewday! For vertically-challenged gnomes, this hat has another feature – now you’re taller than any dwarf in the room! They will back away from your gnomish awesomeness as you cheerfully explain how the ratio of the height to the circumference of your hat is EXACTLY the same as the ratio of Master Dwarf’s intelligence to his hobnailed boot size! HA! ...

EQ2: Hooded Justice never looked so sweet

Back in, oh, I guess this would be the early 90s, I had a friend who was so excited about finally putting all her paintings – ‘paintings’ – on this new World Wide Web thing. I’d known she liked art, but painting? I didn’t know she did that. She sent everyone in our little circle of friends links to her paintings page. And it was all, every single one, pictures of her filtered through some oil painting setting of some early paint program. ...

New EverQuest hot zones. RMT, and Frostfell missions

Much thanks to Danshir for reminding me last night that EverQuest has changed its list of hot zones, places that give extra adventure and AA experience if you fight there. If leveling is your goal in EverQuest, you want to go to the hot zone best for your level and look for a group. Usually there will be plenty of other people there to group with. SOE usually adds a few new drops (often nice augments) to sweeten the deal, as well. ...

EQ2 RMT discussion

Chris: I read an eq2 hotfix.. It didn’t mention a particular server: STATION CASH Station Cash is a new virtual currency from SOE that has been created to allow for the purchase of premium in-game items within EverQuest II. To get started, access the “Marketplace” from the EQII Window within the game. Click on the “Add Funds” button to purchase Station Cash to fund your wallet and then select items to purchase. ...

SOE brings RMT fluff items to EverQuest 2?

This story is causing a bit of a stir here at work. Yes. At my real life work. Clockwork Gamer: Station Currency Dunno what this means. I have misgivings about having RMT and a subscription price in the same game (just as I do with Wizard 101, but at least EQ2 has appearance slots). More as we all learn more.

Wizard 101: October 30 update and the Cave of Sorrows

Still working on Shoshuni Village quests. I cleared out all the quests in the Cave of Sorrows, a place of treacherous paths and ramps and stuff that you have to cross dozens of times, and am now purifying the shrines in the other zone off Shoshuni, Kimise(?) Village. That is home to three shrines that will, when cleansed, weaken the Plague Oni enough so that I can defeat it. ...
