Quick Look: Persona 5 Strikers

Persona 5, Persona 5 Royal, Persona 5 Dancing in Starlight, and now Persona 5 Strikers. The Persona 5 legacy lives on in this new, action-oriented chapter in the story of Joker & Friends as they seek to save the innocent people of Shibuya, once again. Futaba warns us about Shadows I have not yet finished Persona 5 Strikers, so this is more of a quick look than a full review. ...

Okay, picture this: A collectible card game – except digital! And you play as one of a bunch of different classes, with cards themed to your class. You can play through a deep RPG with unique storylines for all classes, or test your deck against other players! There’s never been anything quite like Hearthstone Shadowverse! The characters looked to be a huge and wacky departure from the grim madness of unimproved Lovecraft. It was cheap. I took a chance. ...

My RPGs of 2020

I looked at all the RPGs I’ve played this year, trying to pick the one of them all that would be the best of the year. Several stood out, but I couldn’t pick just one. I guess if there were a game that I felt worth spending hours of my life playing, that proved its quality, maybe? Outer Wilds (PS4; finished January 26) This indie game about a hapless astronaut who is trying to stop their sun from exploding in (looks at watch) 24 minutes made a huge splash when it came out last year for all the right reasons. The clockwork solar system our astronaut lives in is full of puzzles everywhere you look. The lore is amazing. The physics are on point. And every 24 minutes, the sun explodes and you start from the beginning again, but you still have retained all you learned. ...
