The Haven Girl brochure I did last week got printed up and we got them back yesterday (you can see the first page below). The printers finally used the Haven Girl logo font I specified instead of whichever one was their favorite that day. Came out pretty well. I tried to use more color. Have two more brochures arriving next week, probably while I’m on vacation. I’m seriously iffy about one of them. ...

For a gaming blog, I sure don’t manage to write that much about gaming… I wrote Friday about how the COO of the company was asked by the owner to give each woman employee a hundred dollars to buy dresses to get ideas for a new dress line. I never wear dresses, but when the COO called, I said I’d do it! But… I couldn’t. I wanted to, but each dress I saw just pointed out that I don’t look good in dresses. I returned the money this morning. But nearly everyone DID get one (or more) dresses for that money, so at the morning meeting, we collectively looked a lot more Fifth Avenue than normal. ...

I have to send more spam for work today. Some more styles we’re trying to get rid of. The last time, just for fun, I put the pictures of the outfits we’re hawking in front of a Renoir landscape… and people liked it… they made our clothes look sunnier, classier… I thought I’d try that again, but this time with a Van Gogh. Renoir probably hummed a happy tune, picked up his easel when he was done, and went home and did happy things. Who knows. I don’t know anything about him. ...

The Warehouse manager tried to print out a tracking sheet, but IE bluescreened on him. I’d seen this on another computer… It worked fine in IE on my computer, and in Firefox, which got me thinking… I installed Firefox on his computer, and it worked fine. Now, I don’t know why IE crashes, and Firefox does not. The printer driver is the same, the FedEx site is (presumably) the same, the computer is the same… ...

Bali sent a proposal for a tag to be sewn inside (or outside, nobody is quite sure) of our jeans. The sales manager wanted to keep the hearts, but make the label more ornate. The final result is on the bottom.

I do have a life outside RPGs. My real work sometimes includes some illustration; here’s a project I did recently. All these images are copyright (c) 2005 by Surya, Inc. We’re launching a new line in Haven Bleu, “616” (it’s a date). So I was asked to come up with a new hang tag to be attached to the 616 clothes. This is our current hang tag. It’s nice and clean with a pretty font (Century Gothic, it turns out). But they said, play with the fonts some. ...
