He really DOES work both sides of the aisle, and is a true bipartisan. Until he decided to abandon his long-held positions in order to gain the support of the Republican base, when once they barely considered him Republican at all. And then he accepted the dragging anchor that the RNC saddled him with as a running mate. ...

I haven’t done any of those posts about all of my blogs stats yet, but it’s my blog’s third anniversary, so now seems like a good time. I used to blog on my EQ guild’s website, but decided to jump to full ‘blog-dom’ because I felt I was littering up the guild site with stuff nobody cared about. With a blog, I could post stuff up that nobody would ever see, but would be safe on the web from anything that happened to my computer, and I could go back to read what I was doing any particular day. ...

It’s come to our attention that picture-loaded front pages may be unfriendly to those with slow connections. Who knew? From now on, only the most recent article with be presented in full (to be friendly to those who read this through feeds). When I post a new article, I’ll hide all but the first picture behind a –more– thingie. This should make WK somewhat faster to load. Sorry for the inconvenience :) ...

Step 1: Start browsing the games Xfire claims are installed on your system and come across a children’s version of that old game, Mastermind: Step 2: Spend 15 minutes writing a program in Python to solve it for you. Step 3: Suddenly realize you missed the point of the puzzle in the first place :P We had to do a version of this game as a programming assignment in Pascal back in college. It took a lot longer than 15 minutes back then. Python > Pascal. That’s all.

Whatever was sneaking up on me Friday turned into full-blown influenza Sunday morning. I’ve been spending my time alternately dreaming and hallucinating; I’m not sure which I’m typing this in. I want to sit up but can only do it in five minute stretches. Two dreams I remember, but… body wants me to lie back down so they will have to wait. I’d like to direct you to Mythokia’s impressions of his first 16 days in Singapore’s National Service. It’s a surreal depiction of life in what’s supposed to be a giant, two year bonding exercise for all of Singapore’s men.

Just a shout out to my newest reader, whom I won’t name. It’s another blog scraper taking my entries, which I write for my own fun and the fun of others, and trying to make money from them! And not giving me any of it! It just isn’t fair! And it sounds like my newest scraper could afford to send me some money. I sure could use it! Jaye wrote this weekend about the notion that bloggers might be press, and she goes on to define press as the process of getting information out to the public. Presumably without bias or commentary. If that’s what the press is these days, they’re doing a really poor job of it. Turn on the TV and watch coverage of the presidential election, and see if you can tell who is for which candidate. One thing you can say for bloggers, agree or disagree with us, at least you know where we stand. Our biases our right out in the open. ...
