EQ2: How to Kill a Queen

Lishian of Memoirs of an (Ex) Guild Leader has a hilarious post today (complete with illustrations!) on how to kill nasty Qeynosians who just won’t leave you alone! Â

EQ2: Mutagenic Outcast, Direvine Matron, Inner Sanctum

The Mutagenic Outcast is a little critter who stands about, minding his own business really, on the Isle of Ravasects in the Bonemire. I don’t know why he was outcast. If you roll a ball to him, he’ll knock it back, but he won’t talk. Lost in thought, he is. Did he commit a crime? Did the other ravasects not want to play with him because he was mutagenic? ...

EQ1: The Comic Adventures of Crimson Eternity

Check out the comics I made for my EverQuest 1 guild while we were working on expansions from Gates of Discord through the Prophecy of Ro. I’ve never had them all together before. You can find all of them by clicking on the “Comics” tab at the top of this window.

Wuoshi and the Emerald Halls

Hi! Look at me! I’m a big scawy dwagon! So ha ha ha! When Tunare left Wuoshi in charge of the Plane of Growth, could she ever have predicted that he’d turn into a tin-pot dictator, strutting around in a circle, terrorizing innocent people who just wanted to skip and frolic in the home of all growth? Gardener Thirgen This poor faun was sobbing and crying. Someone had destroyed years of work on his most special garden, the one celebrating Tunare’s return. Could we help discover who could have done this awful, terrible thing, and have them, perhaps, help repair the damage? ...

Emerald Halls and the Plane of Growth

We raided Emerald Halls last night, and the whole thing reminded me so much of old Everquest’s Plane of Growth… so before getting into our Emerald Halls raid, a little nostalgia to another zone that, years ago, was also filled with loads and loads of trash, mobs with a zillion hit points, and more growing things than you could pile on your lawn and burn in a lifetime. Tunare’s tree rises above the forested canopy of the Plane of Growth ...

Freethinkers, Clockwork Menace, Labs of Lord Vyemm

Nice place for a pumpkin… I joined Eternal Chaos wanting to raid, and raid we do. Tonight we started off with Freethinker’s Hideout. This is a fairly short instance in the Loping Plains with just four bosses. I don’t have any decent pictures of the fights themselves, as 20 people gathered around one poor, frightened vampire… well, what’s there to see? We’re so MEAN to them. I swear. Vampires need love, too! ...

EQ2: Turtle Soup

Who will pull first – us or them? We were gathering to kill Cheldrak, when someone noticed that the Direvine Matron, one of the hottest contested bosses in the game, was up, in the same zone we were in, and there was nobody there! Well, except maybe one or two people from Fallen… so, it was a race. Nothing brings back EQ1’s glory days more than racing for raid mobs. Nagafen for cleric epics; Trakanon, Venril Sathir, Yelinak, Tormax, Statue, Dain, Aaryonar, Vyemm, Tunare, Cazic, Inny, RZtW… the best times were always finding a boss, gathering, and taking it down before another guild could get to it. EQ1 died for me when all the bosses went instanced. Sure, guilds wouldn’t have to compete any longer, but the competition is what made it fun to begin with. ...

You say you want a Revolution?

Well, you know, we all want to change the world. This morning (being a coward and waiting until few people were on), I left my guild of more than a year on EQ2, Revolution. (I did post on the guild message board and tell the people who were online why I was leaving, so it wasn’t 100% ninja. Maybe 75% ninja.) This is the first time I have left an active guild since I left A Twist of Fate for Crimson Eternity back in, oh, 2002. ...

EQ2: Ganking Q's on Nagafen

Lord of the Rings Online being a bore (but a pretty one) – I didn’t even last through my free month – I was desperate to get some fun back into my online gaming. My 9-year old niece suggested Neopets*, and that was fun for awhile. My son had made a character on the EQ2 PvP server, Vox… and having a little bit of fun… I thought I’d join him there, made a character, looked at the server list and… ...
